4. Aviation Regulation: Regulating the aviation industry, including airlines, airports, air navigation services, and aviation safety standards, in accordance with international regulations and standards set by organizations such as the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
5. Maritime Regulation: Regulating maritime transportation activities, including shipping, ports, maritime safety, and maritime security, to ensure compliance with international maritime conventions and standards and promote the growth of the maritime sector.
6. Railway Development: Promoting the development and modernization of railway infrastructure and services, including passenger and freight rail transport, to provide efficient and affordable alternatives to road transport and support economic development.
7. Transport Planning and Management: Conducting transportation studies, data collection, and analysis to inform transport planning and decision-making processes, as well as managing transportation systems and networks to optimize their performance and reliability.
8. Public Transport Subsidies: Providing subsidies and support for public transportation services, particularly in rural and underserved areas, to improve accessibility, affordability, and reliability of transport services for all citizens.
9. Transport Sector Coordination: Collaborating with other government agencies, private sector stakeholders, development partners, and local communities to coordinate transportation initiatives, address cross-cutting issues, and promote integrated transport planning and development.
